3 Spooky DIY Halloween Trends

My mom and I love to get crafty and try DIY projects. This October we have been very inspired with cute trends from social media. Have you seen the thrift store ghost paintings? Or how about the sheet ghost dog photo shoots? Well, keep reading! Plus there are some bonus projects at the end!

1. Thrift Store Ghost Painting

Our first, and maybe my favorite, has been the thrift store ghost paintings. We were originally inspired by reels from others on Instagram. If you have not seen these, you should definitely search and take a look! There are SO MANY cute ones! One morning we went to our local thrift store to pick our paintings. We lucked out and snagged these for $2 each! I don’t know about you, but we love to paint so we already had a bunch of painting supplies, so this projected ended up only costing us $4.00 total! We finished these painting in a couple hours and had so much doing them! I 10/10 recommend giving this DIY trend a try!

2. Sheet Ghost Dog Photoshoot

If you have a dog, you will love this next one! Again inspired from Instagram, this trend features the cutest good doggos fashioning a sheet ghost outfit for a spooky fall photoshoot. Treats are recommended! This DIY photoshoot only cost $10 for a set of white twin sheets! And trust me, these photos are PRICELESS!!

3. Yard Ghost Decorations

The trend for this year’s spooky season is obviously ghost themed! Recently my parents have been working on the interior of their garage and had some left of plywood. One afternoon, mom and I decided to do a little project with the left overs! My mom just outlined a basic ghost shape on the wood with a pencil and then used a jig saw to cut them. Once they were cut, we sanded the edges to make them a little less rough. Next we just used two coats of white paint for the based and accented it with black and gray paint to make the ghosts. I don’t have a yard, but my dog ghost makes a perfect apartment ornament too! Since this project was rationed out of all left over materials, it costs us $0!

Bonus Projects!!

Some other of my favorite fall themed DIY projects that I have acquired are this fall is ribbon wreath and floral vase! My grandma made this beautiful fall ribbon wreath. With the left over supplies from the wreath, I put together is cute arrangement with this $2 vase from the thrift store! All of the wreath supplies came from Hobby Lobby for less than $50!

I hope you enjoy these projects and feel inspired to try one! If you do, or have tried another fun fall trend, leave pictures in the comments!
